There is no right or wrong when it comes to the manner of sitting, except that the kid should not slouch. One aspect that makes a difference is changing positions regularly. Do not pester your kids if they adapt a bad position on their chair instead get an ergonomic kids desk. Although teachers and parents fret upon fidgeting, it should not be discerned as a manifestation of bad concentration or a sign of hyperactivity. Undoubtedly, fidgeting while in a sitting position is a normal, most mindless aspect of behavior that stimulates the kid’s mental, psychological, and physical development. In contrast, extended intervals of sitting are detrimental.
The study desk and chair should accommodate like a glove!
To accomplish an active sitting position, it should be feasible to modify the workstation, the desk, and the chair, to the kid’s proportions and height. Adapting to the table begins with the seat. The next phase is to adapt the elevation of the study desk.
Modify the height of the seat in a way that the edge on the front of the chair is about the level of the rear of the knees. The chair height is favorable if the angle between the trunk and the thigh is almost 100 degrees. The feet must be horizontal on the ground.
Bending the chair little to the front enables the kid to sit straight and be directed while studying at the study table. The pelvis is bent a little ahead and the back must be straight. An adjustable chair also facilitates active sitting.
To sum up, an active position is encouraged and as long as the kid does not slouch and is sitting as upright as possible. This can be made manageable with a chair and desk that could be modified to the kid’s height.
